২০ জুন বুলি ক’লেই আমাৰ মনলৈ এটা নামেই আহে , সেইটো হৈছে “কলাগুৰু বিষ্ণু প্ৰসাদ ৰাভা” ; কিয়নো এইটো দিনতেই ১৯৬৯ চনত তেখেতৰ মৃত্যু হৈছিল আৰু সেইকাৰণে এই দিনটো তেখেতৰ নামত উৎসৰ্গিত কৰি ৰাভা দিৱস হিচাপে পালন কৰা হয়।

অসমীয়া সাহিত্যৰ ভঁৰাল চহকী কৰাত কলাগুৰু বিষ্ণুপ্ৰসাদ ৰাভাৰ অৱদান অপৰিসীম। তেখেতে একেৰাহে কবি, সাহিত্যিক, নাট্যকাৰ, সংগীতজ্ঞ, নৃত্যবিদ, অভিনেতা আৰু মুক্তি যুঁজাৰু আছিল। 

১৯০৯ চনৰ ৩১ জানুৱাৰীত বেঙ্গল প্ৰেসিডেন্সি (এতিয়াৰ বাংলাদেশ)-ৰ ঢাকাত বিষ্ণু ৰাভাৰ জন্ম হয়।তেওঁৰ পিতৃৰ নাম আছিল গোপাল চন্দ্ৰ ৰাভা। জন্মসূত্ৰে গোপাল চন্দ্ৰ মুছাহাৰী বড়ো জনগোষ্ঠীৰ হ'লেও তেখেত এটা ৰাভা পৰিয়ালত ডাঙৰ হৈছিল। পাছলৈ তেখেতে সেয়ে 'ৰাভা' উপাধি গ্ৰহণ কৰে। ব্ৰিটিছ সেনাৰ উচ্চ পদস্থ বিষয়া গোপালচন্দ্ৰ ৰাভাক 'ৰায়বাহাদুৰ' উপাধি যঁচা হৈছিল। গোপাল ৰাভাক বেংগলৰ গৱৰ্ণৰৰ এ.ডি.চি. (A.D.C. to the Governor of Bengal) পদলৈ পদোন্নতি দিয়া হৈছিল।  দৰং জিলাৰ চাবেক বাসিন্দা গোপাল ৰাভা, তেজপুৰৰ বাণ ৰঙ্গমঞ্চৰ লগত জড়িত আছিল। তেখেতে মূল থিয়েটাৰ ভৱনৰ নিৰ্মাণত যথেষ্ট অৱদান আগবঢ়াইছিল।

১৯৩৫ চনত বিষ্ণুপ্ৰসাদ ৰাভাই জ্যোতিপ্ৰসাদ আগৰৱালাৰ জয়মতী কথাছবিত নৃত্য পৰিচালনাত সহযোগ কৰে। জ্যোতিপ্ৰসাদৰ লগ লাগি ১৯৩৫-৩৭ চনত ৰাভাই 'জয়মতী' আৰু 'শোণিত কুঁৱৰী' নাটকৰ বাণীবদ্ধ ৰূপ প্ৰস্তুত কৰিছিল। ইয়াৰ পিছত ১৯৩৯ চনত কাশী হিন্দু বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ আমন্ত্ৰণ ক্ৰমে বাৰানসীত 'তাণ্ডৱ নৃত্য' প্ৰদৰ্শন কৰি খ্যাতি অৰ্জন কৰে। ইয়াতেই সৰ্বপল্লী ৰাধাকৃষ্ণণে তেখেতক '"কলাগুৰু"' উপাধি প্ৰদান কৰিছিল।

নাটক আৰু বোলছবিত অভিনয় :

অসমৰ নাট্য সন্মিলনৰ প্ৰতিষ্ঠাপক সভাপতি কলাগুৰু বিষ্ণুপ্ৰসাদ ৰাভাই নাট্যাভিনয়ৰ পাতনি মেলিছিল আঠ বছৰ বয়সত। ঢাকা নগৰত মঞ্চস্থ এখন নাটকত প্ৰথমে ৰাজকোঁৱৰৰ ভাৱত ৰাভাই অভিনয় কৰিছিল। নাটকখনৰ নাম আছিল হৰিশ্চন্দ্ৰ। তেজপুৰৰ বাণ ৰঙ্গমঞ্চত নিয়মীয়াকৈ অভিনয় কৰা ৰাভাই পাছলৈ যাত্ৰা-পাৰ্টিৰ লগত নাটকত অভিনয় কৰাৰ উপৰিও কেবাখনো অসমীয়া ছবিত অভিনয় কৰিছিল। তেখেতৰ অভিনীত বোলছবি এৰা বাটৰ সুৰ, প্ৰতিধ্বনি, ছিৰাজ। 

জ্যোতিপ্ৰসাদৰ আমন্ত্ৰণত অসমীয়া কথাছবি 'জয়মতী' নিৰ্মাণত তেখেতে জ্যোতিপ্ৰসাদ আগৰৱালাক নৃত্য পৰিচালনাৰ লগতে আন কেইবাটাও বিষয়ত সহায় কৰিছিল। জ্যোতিপ্ৰসাদ আগৰৱালাৰ 'কাৰেঙৰ লিগিৰী" নাট পৰিচালনা কৰোঁতেও ৰাভাই সংগীত পৰিচালনাৰ দায়িত্ব লৈছিল আৰু 'সুদৰ্শন' চৰিত্ৰত অভিনয়ো কৰিছিল। 

ফণী শৰ্মাৰ সৈতে যুটীয়া ভাৱে পৰিচালনা কৰিছিল তেতিয়ালৈ আটাইতকৈ সফল বোলছবি ছিৰাজ। ভূপেন হাজৰিকাৰ এৰা বাটৰ সুৰত ৰাভাই ‘ভজলুংকা’ৰ ভাও আৰু প্ৰতিধ্বনি ছবিত খাচী চিয়েমৰ ভাও দিছিল৷

বিষ্ণু ৰাভা এগৰাকী নিপুন চিত্ৰকৰ আছিল। তেওঁ বৰপেটাৰ শ্ৰীমন্ত শংকৰদেৱৰ আৰু শংকৰ-মাধৱৰ যুগল ছবি আঁকি তিনিটা ৰঙত ছপাই ৰাইজৰ মাজত বিতৰণ কৰিছিল। ৰাভাৰ ৰচনাৱলীৰ পৰিশিষ্টত ১৯ খন ছবিৰ আলোকচিত্ৰ সংযোজিত হৈছে৷
